Our Services

Our bones and muscles, and all the ligaments, tendons, and connective tissue in between, form what’s known as the musculoskeletal system. Without this basic framework, we wouldn’t be able to move or position our bodies the way we naturally do. So when our musculoskeletal system suffers an injury, it can throw our entire body off and hinder our ability to move and function effectively.

Our general orthopaedic services are diverse and involve both surgical and noninvasive procedures. We focus on relieving pain and helping our patients have successful recoveries after experiencing acute injuries. We also help those suffering from long-term conditions attain a better quality of life with advanced treatment and pain management.

Sports Medicine
Getting hurt is part of playing a sport, and athletes are, unfortunately, highly susceptible to injury. We see sports injuries every day at our clinic. We’ve made it our mission to help our athletes overcome their injuries and get back on track to performing their best.

We also work towards educating our athletes and helping them better understand how to prevent and treat sports injuries.

Fracture Care
Experiencing a fracture is a traumatic event that can cause permanent damage if not properly treated. If you’ve sustained a fracture, our team can place the wounded area in a cast or splint. We’ll monitor your progress and help you develop a general orthopaedic treatment plan after your fracture heals. In some cases, our team may refer you to a physical therapist.

Severe fractures will often require surgery. Dr. Parikh is an orthopaedic surgeon who performs fracture repair procedures. After monitoring their progress, Dr. Parikh and his team will develop a treatment plan that involves ongoing orthopaedic therapy or physical therapy. The team will also develop a plan that helps you manage your pain, reduce scar tissue, and restore your mobility.

Arthroscopic Surgery
Compared to other injuries, joint injuries can be harder to reach and monitor. But with the advancement of technology and medicine, it’s easier than ever to treat them.

Dr. Parikh specializes in arthroscopic surgery, a type of surgery that involves a close examination inside of a joint. The procedure involves making a small incision to gain access to the joint. Once the incision is made, Dr. Parikh is able to insert a small camera attached to a device, known as an arthroscope. The arthroscope allows Dr. Parikh to see inside the joint and make a proper diagnosis soon after.

Corrective surgery may be necessary following the examination and official diagnosis. Some conditions and injuries can be treated with arthroscopic instruments. Some injuries may require other types of open surgery.

Dr. Parikh can perform the procedure on the ankles, knees, and shoulders. Patients can typically return home several hours after the procedure. In some cases, arthroscopic surgery can fix certain injuries, such as meniscus tears or rotator cuff tears. But in other cases, we can only use arthroscopic equipment to diagnose serious or complicated injuries.

Carpal Tunnel Treatment
Carpal tunnel syndrome affects the median nerve in the hand as the result of recurring pressure. When the medial nerve is constantly compressed, it can cause numbing and tingling in the hands and wrists. Radiating pain can occur and those affected can lose the ability to grip or hold onto objects.

Those who use their hands and wrists on a daily basis are most susceptible. But those who play certain sports, like tennis or gymnastics, are especially prone to the condition.

Serious nerve compression can cause complicated carpal tunnel syndrome. Surgery may be required in these cases. But in milder cases, our patients can improve with a splint, plenty of rest, and non-surgical injections.

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a condition we commonly diagnose and treat, and our main goal is to help our patients avoid complications. In addition to carpal tunnel syndrome, Dr. Parikh and his team treat other conditions and injuries involving the hands and wrists.

Joint Replacement
Over time, our joints can sustain damage as a result of long-term injury, disease, age, or general wear and tear. Joint replacement surgery is common and can help patients who aren’t responding to conservative treatments with medication, injections, and therapy.

Joint replacement surgery involves the removal of the damaged joint surfaces, including cartilage and much of the bone. A metal, ceramic, or plastic prosthetic is then implanted in the area, where it can move and function as a joint. Dr. Parikh specializes in total hip replacement surgery. He also specializes in total and partial knee replacement surgery.

Joint, Shoulder, Wrist, & Elbow Injections
Ongoing joint problems don’t always require partial or full replacement surgery. Many of our patients benefit from cortisone injections in the joints, including the shoulders and elbows. When inflammation builds up in these areas, it can cause swelling, pain, and in worse cases, immobility. If too much fluid has accumulated around a joint, as can happen in elbow bursitis, for example, an aspiration procedure can reduce the swelling and pain.

During an aspiration procedure, we’ll remove fluid buildup from these areas. We’ll then examine the fluid in the laboratory. Aspiration procedures not only reduce pain. These procedures allow us to make a proper diagnosis and understand the causes of pain.

Non-Surgical Arthritis Treatment
Millions of Americans suffer from arthritis. Luckily, our methods of treating arthritis are better than ever, and it’s possible to maintain a high quality of life with the disease.

We help our patients better manage their arthritic pain and symptoms with non-surgical methods, such as cortisone or viscous supplementation injections. Pairing an active lifestyle with an anti-inflammatory diet can go a long way for many of our patients. Stress management, physical therapy, and regenerative medicine can also help.
